All Courses Are Taught by NRA Instructors
Our firearm courses were developed with the primary goal of improving shooter’s skills and confidence. Don’t see a class scheduled on our calendar? No worries – a majority of our classes are taught privately.
We want to ensure that all students who complete a class at Ted’s Shooting Range have adequate time to reinforce the skills they learned during class. So we provide 30-days of unlimited range time with the successful completion of any TSR class.
Intro To Handgun – Call Range for Group Pricing / $120 Private
Prerequisites: None
Course Length: 1.5 – 2 hours
This course will teach you safe gun handling practices, gun mechanics, how to handle ammo malfunctions, and how to clean your personal firearm. Included in the class is range time with the instructor and after finished class a 30 day free range pass. The class is $80 per person for group rates, $120 for private (ammo will be additional cost for rental guns). A handgun will be provided if needed. This class MAY qualify you to attend the Advanced Arizona CCW Class at the instructor’s discretion. This course is available for ages 6 and up.

Basic Arizona Conceal Carry (CCW) $80 Group/ $120 Private
Prerequisites: Proficient Handgun Safety and Manipulation
Course Length: 4 – 5 hours
This is a great class for those with basic pistol experience to acquire their Arizona CCW. The first portion of this class covers safety with a 50rd live fire exercise on the range. The second portion of this class covers laws. The cost includes everything needed to submit in your application to the state including your fingerprint cards.
Range time is included in the cost, ammunition is available for purchase.

Advanced Arizona Conceal Carry (CCW) $60 Group / $120 Private
Prerequisites: Intro to Handgun or Equivalent, Expired CCW, DD214 or Proof of Professional Training, NRA Instructor Certification
Course Length: 2.5 hours
This is a recommended class for those looking to advance their familiarity with Arizona & Federal firearm carry laws to acquire (convert out of state CCW) their Arizona CCW. The first portion of this course is a classroom lecture that discusses the laws for conceal carry and what to do if you ever have to use your firearm in self-defense. The course is followed by a brief written test. The remainder of the course will be focused on building a packet of forms ready to send into the Arizona DPS.
The cost includes everything needed to submit in your application to the state including your fingerprint cards.

Conceal Carry Shooting Techniques $250

Course Length: 2 – 2.5 hours
A great course to take before or after acquiring your CCW. Learn about situational awareness and the benefits of carrying concealed. This class gives an opportunity to learn about holster options to best suit your lifestyle, it also covers how to clear common malfunctions and how to safely and efficiently draw from concealment.
Must have your own firearm, holster, and magazine. Ammunition available for purchase.

Intermediate Pistol $80 / 120 Private
Course Length: 2 – 2.5 hours
Our Intermediate Handgun Course makes use of both dry-fire and live-fire practice in a 1.5 hour session to target skills such as fundamentals, marksmanship, reloading, etc. The session(s) are led by an instructor who will teach at the pace and skill level of the individual student(s). The exact material will vary and will be highly flexible.

Defensive Handgun Level 1&2 $200
Course Length: 2 – 2.5 hours
Objectives
The Defensive Handgun courses (Level 1&2) are designed for individuals who have some beginner level experience with a handgun but want to start on the right path for defensive preparedness. The goal of the classes are to get students shooting safely, consistently and with focus on good self-defense. All shooting drills in this course are shot from the ready position and with hand on gun in holster. For those that have no experience at all with handguns, we recommend Intro to Handgun.
– One and two hand point shooting
– Basics of sighted fire
– Reloads and malfunction clearance
– A slight amount of entry level movement while shooting
Skills covered Level 2
– Sighted fire from ready position
– Sighted fire from the holstered position
– Multiple sighted fired shots
The training course is built on the core concept of behavior-based conditioning and maximizes performance while working with a person’s survival-oriented instincts and intuitions.
– Eye and ear protection
– Handgun in proper working order (unloaded and stored in case prior to arrival)
– 2 or more magazines/speed loaders (3 is recommended)

– 200-250 rounds of quality ammunition
Defensive Handgun Level 3&4 (Advanced Handgun) $200
Course Length: 5 hours
Objectives
The Defensive handgun level 3 and 4 curriculum are centered around behavior-based conditioning as it relates to combative marksmanship. The course(s) focuses on drawing from concealment and making multiple precision shots, working through handgun malfunctions and reloads intuitively, consistently and at increasing speed, and engaging multiples targets. It will also improve on skills learned from previous levels and will incorporate various principles of movement.
– Demonstrate basic handgun drawing techniques and rapid threat engagement
– Display a balance of speed and precision during engagement drills using point shooting, precision shooting, and perfect shooting, ands perfect sighted fire fundamentals
– Recognize stoppages and perform simplified weapons manipulations skills such as immediate action, remedial action, and reloads at unpredictable times during an engagement sequence
– Demonstrate the ability to perform target-transitions
Skills covered Level 4
– Demonstrate the ability to moves, stop and shoot
– Effectively engage a target while moving both offensively and defensively
– Use of cover while engaging a threat
– Demonstrate the ability to shoot accurately with one hand

Defensive Handgun Level 5
Low Light Pistol (Pistol Only) $200
Course Length: 2 – 2.5 hours
The purpose of the training class is to expose the student to the proper use of the flashlight and/or weapon light in a low and no light environments. According to the FBI, the majority of defensive shooting incidents occur in low to no light situations. During this class you will develop confidence with your handgun and learn techniques in low light shooting situations and threat/target identification.
Must have your own pistol, holster, and magazines. Ammunition available for purchase.

This class is generally taught privately to you or a small group (4 or less). The class is tailored the specific needs of shooters and various rifle platforms.

Take your carbine skills one step further with this action packed course. You’ll build your skills and knowledge on basic defensive techniques to non-conventional methods. This course will instill confidence, develop the skill set and a sense of independence to manipulate a carbine or rifle defensively.

Sharpen your carbine skills with real world applications. You’ll build your skills and knowledge on advanced defensive techniques and non-conventional methods. This course is intended to put yourself and your firearm to the test.

This is an comprehensive course where students become familiarized with proper shotgun manipulation in real world defensive situations. The main goal of this course is to provide a complete understanding of the limits of a shotgun’s range based on the types of ammo used. During the range portion of this course students will focus on malfunction clearing and live fire drills.

The primary goal of this course is to help students develop reflexive shotgun handling skills that will enable them to quickly and efficently engage threats while performing multiple complex tasks

LEOSA (H.R. 218) Qualifications $50
Course Length: No longer than 1 hour
This is an initial and re-qualification course for pistol and/or revolver. The certification is good for 1 year for HR218. We provide the application form and the TQ-21 targets. The qualification requirements may be found on the AZ POST website. Additional fees apply upon failure to qualify. Cost includes the State of Arizona Peace Officer qualification course on the TQ-21 silhouette as well as the judgement course as required by the Arizona Department of Public Safety. We will also provide you with the required form to initiate or renew your permit.

AR15 Builder $300 per Person
Course Length: 4 – 4.5 hours
Learn the details of this time tested fascinating weapon. In this course you will learn how to build your own AR with variable levels of instructor assistance. Our instructor will give you as much or as little assistance needed (within recommended guidelines).
